Air Compressor Motor Pulley Sizing

emglo lu pump w/10 inch fly wheel, max rpm 945. motor is a 5hp 3450 rpm. I need to know what size motor pulley to use. I also understand these pumps have had some overheating problems due to the 3 bladed flywheel. Should the flywheel be replaced with a improved version or am I missinformed.

the ratio formula is pretty easy, the ratio of the pulley diameters is the opposite of the ratio of the shaft rpm. So if you have a big pulley that's 12quot;, a small one that's 3quot;, 12/3=4 so then the compressor will turn 1/4 speed of the motor .
