I converted all my locks over to Yale Zigbee locks after years of problems with Kwikset Z-Wave locks. Granted, my Zigbee mesh is 100x more powerful than my Z-Wave mesh is, so YMMV. I'd say that my zigbee and zwave meshes are roughly equal strength, I'm counting on the Iris plugs to repeat for both.

You can also buy a zigbee Kwikset Convert on Amazon for cheap, and just use the chip from it. (And keep the rest for spare parts) A minority of people have a mesh that just happens to forward all messages to/from the zwave locks correctly, but most will experience some unreliability.
