What is a compression latch?

Compression latches are mechanical closure devices commonly used to secure lids and windows. Two common forms of latch are T-handle and lift and turn compression latches.

What is a compression lock?

Compression lock. A compression lock, a muscle lock, muscle slicer or muscle crusher, is a grappling hold which causes severe pain by pressing a muscle into a bone. A compression lock can cause a joint lock in a nearby joint when it is applied by squeezing a limb over a fulcrum.

What is latch hardware?

A latch or catch (called sneck in Northern England and Scotland) is a type of mechanical fastener that joins two (or more) objects or surfaces while allowing for their regular separation. A latch typically engages another piece of hardware on the other mounting surface.
