What is PPTM?

PPTM (PowerPoint Macro-Enabled Presentation) supports embedded VBA macros for automated slideshows, interactive elements, and dynamic content generation in PowerPoint.

What is TXT?

TXT (Plain Text) is the simplest text format, containing only unformatted text without any styling, images, or metadata.

When Should You Use PPTM vs TXT?

PPTM vs TXT: Key Differences

• •The core technical difference: PPTM relies on lossless compression whereas TXT uses lossless compression.
• •Neither format changes compression philosophy — both are lossless compression — so any size differences are due to encoding efficiency, not a shift in quality approach.
• •How transparency is handled: TXT supports transparency, so alpha information is preserved during conversion.
• •PPTM files are typically 500KB to 50MB with media while TXT files range 1KB to 1MB
• •Use case fit: PPTM targets interactive presentations, automated slide decks, business reporting and TXT targets simple text, data exchange — your choice depends on which workflow stage you are serving.

Advantages of PPTM

• ✓PPTM applies lossless compression specifically calibrated for Interactive presentations, automated slide decks, business reporting.
• ✓PPTM enjoys broad native support across operating systems, browsers, and creative tools alike.

• →For PPTM to TXT conversions, verify that tracked changes and comments are preserved if needed
• →Embed fonts to ensure consistent rendering across devices and platforms
• →Always keep a backup of your original files before converting
• →Choose the appropriate quality settings for your specific use case

Troubleshooting PPTM to TXT Conversion

• !PPTM to TXT formatting looks off → complex layouts with tables and columns may shift between formats
• !Fonts render differently in TXT → embed fonts or use standard web-safe fonts before converting
• !Images missing from the TXT output → ensure images are embedded in PPTM, not linked externally
• !Tracked changes disappeared after converting PPTM to TXT → some document formats don't support revision tracking
